Grüniger belongs to the circle of artists who investigate the principles of order, which does not address the everyday, but meaning that which we describe as “universal”. The concept is to recognize that it comes to grasp the mathematical, physical or biological processes underlying regularities and, on the artistic realization, not least also expressed about the hidden secrets, or something factual to experience backgrounds of our world structure.
Interested in the economy of means, material authenticity, and appreciation of the subject by the viewer are the themes which engage him. In addition, a high degree of intuition, drawn from the rich experience in investigating topics with spatial dimension and materiality. It is probably this combination of logic and intuition, which enables Grüniger to develop his own unique style.
